Maranatha Student’s Artwork to Grace Home & Garden Tour Program Cover

When the Altadena Guild sought an artist to create a piece for their renowned event, Maranatha High School sophomore Rhea Chen was the right choice. Recommended by her Art teacher, Mrs. Barnhart, Rhea was selected for her impressive works when she was still a freshman. Drawing inspiration from a photograph of the Altadena foothills, she reimagined the majestic landscape with tranquil blue skies, swaying palm trees, and iconic rolling hills, creating an original watercolor that beautifully reflects the charm and spirit of the region.

 

Rhea’s accomplishment is a testament to the exceptional talent nurtured within Maranatha’s Arts program, where students are encouraged to refine their skills, expand their creative boundaries, and share their work with the broader community.
