Dr. Matthew Ketterling is a familiar and valued member of the Maranatha community. His journey with Maranatha High School began as a Math and Science teacher from 2004-2006. He then pursued higher education, earning a Master’s degree from Talbot School of Theology and both a Master’s and Doctorate in Theology from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
Returning to Maranatha in 2016, Dr. Ketterling has contributed in numerous roles, including Theology Department Chair, Science Instructor, Chair of the Oliver Honors Institute, Dean of Special Projects, Biblical Integration Coordinator, and Associate Dean to the Office of the Head of School. In every position, he has fostered collaboration, built trust, and led with grace and humility.
Dr. Ketterling is married to Kari, a Maranatha class of 1999 alum, and they have four children. The Ketterling family resides in the San Gabriel Valley. Outside of Maranatha, Dr. Ketterling serves as an elder and board member at Church of the Open Door in Glendora, where he was previously the Student Ministries Pastor from 2008-2012.
