Staying Connected: How to Reach Your Student During the School Day

Learn how to use Google Chat and Gmail to send messages to your student during school hours, ensuring you're always in touch.

As we continue to adapt to our new cell phone-free campus policy, we understand that some parents may be concerned about staying in touch with their students during the school day. We want to assure you that there are still convenient ways to communicate with your child using Google Chat or Gmail, both of which are fully supported by the school's Google ecosystem.

To send a message via Google Chat or Gmail, you'll need to have a Gmail account. If you don't already have one, creating an account is quick and easy. Your student has been provided with a compatible school email account, which they can access during school hours on their school-issued iPad.

Google Chat is a user-friendly messaging app that allows you to send real-time messages directly to your student's email account. For added convenience, we recommend downloading the Google Chat app on your mobile device. This app is available for both Android and iOS and will allow you to send messages easily and quickly.

Alternatively, you can send an email directly to your student's school email address using Gmail. Your message will appear in their inbox, and they can respond during appropriate times, such as lunch or between classes.

We understand that this is a new way of staying connected, but we are confident that with these tools, you'll find it easy to communicate with your student when needed. Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated as we work together to create a focused and distraction-free learning environment for all our students.
