Maranatha’s campus will remain closed for the remainder of the week due to the ongoing Eaton Fire and out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.
We are tentatively planning to reopen the campus on Monday, January 13, and will keep you posted as the situation evolves. Please continue to monitor your email and social media for further updates.
Needless to say, the last 18 hours have been unbearably challenging and continue to be so for many. Some within our school community are already dealing with devastating loss, while others are facing the real risk of loss. Many more of us are trying to figure out how to help our family and friends who will need to plan how to rebound from this disaster. Certainly, all of us will be deeply impacted by this experience in some real way for the days and weeks to come.
If your family is experiencing catastrophic loss, and if there is a way the Maranatha community can support you, please contact our Head of School at m_ketterling@mhs-hs.org.
For now, please focus on keeping your family safe and secure and not on courses and classwork. Deadlines for all assignments due this week will be postponed to next week, and our wonderful teachers will work out ways to catch up in a sensible manner after we return to campus. We are exploring creative ways to recapture classroom time once it is safe and appropriate to return to campus, but for now, the safety of our community is our top priority. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones.
