Athletics News and Game Schedule: August 26-31

Girls’ Varsity Volleyball begins a three-game homestand on Monday, August 27 vs. Crescenta Valley’s Lady Falcons, followed by a Tuesday home matchup vs. South Hills, and a Thursday night match vs. Sacred Heart. The Lady Minutemen then travel to face Glendale High School on Friday, August 30. Varsity home games are set to begin at  6:15 pm inside the Maranatha gymnasium. 

 

Girls’ Tennis is set to play their first two matches of the season this week. Game 1 vs. Pasadena HS at the PHS Tennis Courts on Tuesday, August 27, at 3:30 pm. The team then travels to Monrovia High School on Thursday, August 29, for a local non-league match. Tennis matches are set to begin at 3:30 pm. 

 

Varsity Football began the season strong with a 34-26 win over the Lakeside High School Lancers last Thursday night. The team now enters into the 2024 season 1-0 as they defended The Keith Family Field and look to do that again in their Week 2 matchup vs. Fullerton High School. Kickoff is set for Friday, August 30, at 7:00 pm. The community turnout was phenomenal for our first home event of the year! Thank you all for the support as we look to pack our gym for our first home volleyball game on Monday, August 26.

 

JV and Varsity Cheer is set to perform at halftime of the Maranatha vs. Fullerton Football Game.

 

The Boys’ & Girls’ Cross Country Program continues to pick up the pace as they are set to run the 5k at the Pomona Fairplex on Saturday, August 31.
