A Retirement Celebration for the Record Books

Over 600 guests gathered last Saturday at Maranatha High School’s Keith Family Field to honor the school's beloved Head of School, Mr. John Rouse, as he prepares to retire this summer after 40 years of faithful service and leadership.

The celebration brought together a vibrant community of current and former families, alumni, friends, and faculty and staff. The event featured heartfelt presentations from the Board of Trustees and leaders of the Athletic Booster Club, Friends of Maranatha Arts, and the Parent Association. These tributes culminated in a prayer time led by the Board, blessing Mr. and Mrs. Rouse's future.

Although the day was dedicated to Mr. Rouse, it was his wife, Kay Rouse, a retired Maranatha art teacher herself, who captured everyone’s heart. Her poignant thanks to her husband and the school community moved many to tears. She ended her speech with, “John dearly loves you and this school—every minute of everything. And, John, you are dearly loved!”

This memorable day not only celebrated Mr. Rouse’s significant contributions but also demonstrated the deep bonds within the Maranatha community.
